About the School

Echunga Primary School, nestled in the beautiful surroundings of the glorious Adelaide Hills, offers a unique experience for students and teachers alike.

The school is situated within easy reach of the Adelaide GPO and is 31 kilometres or a 30-minute drive via the freeway exiting at the Hahndorf turn off.

Echunga Primary School is a small Child Parent Centre to Year 7 primary school.

Families who enrol their children predominately commute to work in nearby locations or to Adelaide with an increasing number of families valuing full day sessions at the CPC due to work commitments.

The township which was originally focused on mining is one that has had a proud history but is now very much a dormitory suburb of Adelaide with facilities and services located in the nearby townships of Mount Barker and Stirling.

The school has delightful, spacious rooms with all buildings being air-conditioned and equipped to a high standard.

The school has an excellent Out of School Hours Care (OSHC) and Vacation Care service which is highly valued by working families.

Echunga Primary School has a high profile in exciting programs to meet the varied needs of students. It also offers an exciting arts program with children having experience in Festival of Music and work with Artists in Residence. In addition to programs delivered at site level the school works closely with neighbouring cluster schools of Meadows, Macclesfield, Clarendon and Kangarilla to maximise and share teaching expertise and to broaden curriculum offerings where ever possible.

The community values children's involvement in community events and sport and to this end the school actively promotes involvement in SAPSASA and other sports related events.
